REMINDER: REGISTRATION FOR EVENTS OPEN UP A MONTH IN ADVANCE. PLEASE DO NOT SEND MONEY TO THE PAYPAL LINK AND EXPECT TO BE REGISTERED FOR THE EVENT. WE'LL ANNOUNCE ON OUR SOCIAL MEDIA, WHEN SIGNUPS ARE AVAILABLE. Don Weber leads this workshop. Over two weekends (4 days total), get hands on with both traditional woodworking and blacksmithing, in order to build your own Mästermyr chest, a viking-age tool chest. The first weekend will be at the Makerspace building the wooden box. The second weekend will be at Don's forge, approximately 15 minutes away in Paint Lick, where you will build the hinges and metal hardware for the chest. Don Weber, the Bodger of Paint Lick, is a traditional woodworker, furniture and flyrod maker. We've been lucky to have him leading workshops for the past three years through our traditional craft program. Do not miss this opportunity.
Minimum age: 16 (adult must be present for minors).
This is a pay what you can event, with limited seats - there WILL be waitlists. Furniture classes are usually pretty expensive, and our volunteer group puts in untold hours prepping for these workshops with our instructors - we encourage you to give what you are able to (even if that's $0). Our grant with Berea College allows us to do what we can to make these events as accessible as possible.
Our event system does not allow for sliding scale pricing - please pay through our Paypal account (credit cards accepted) or through cash at the door.
