REMINDER: REGISTRATION FOR EVENTS OPEN UP A MONTH IN ADVANCE. PLEASE DO NOT SEND MONEY TO THE PAYPAL LINK AND EXPECT TO BE REGISTERED FOR THE EVENT. WE'LL ANNOUNCE ON OUR SOCIAL MEDIA, WHEN SIGNUPS ARE AVAILABLE. Fred Asplen leads this three day event, 5 hour sessions, learning how to hew a log with a hand axe. "Hewing" a log involves carving flat surfaces on each side - an ancient, important skill for building a home and other large structures. Please bring an axe or hatchet ready to work with. We'll have some to borrow for our Sloyd class if you aren't able to bring your own. Fred is an accomplished woodworker and craftsman in Berea. Minimum age: 16 (adult must be present for minors). This is a pay what you can event, with limited seats - there WILL be waitlists. We encourage you to give what you are able to (even if that's $0). Our grant with Berea College allows us to do what we can to make these events as accessible as possible.
Our event system does not allow for sliding scale pricing - please pay through our Paypal account (credit cards accepted) or through cash at the door.
